Tom Canterino

Co-Founder & Vice President, Business Development & B2B Sales

“If you could fight the epidemics of Alzheimer’s, dementia, and social isolation and loneliness among older adults with the simplest of solutions, why wouldn’t you?”

Tom is a natural business development professional – in all the best ways. His entrepreneurial spirit, passion for leading impactful programs, and his natural ability to foster relationships with everyone he meets have all contributed to the rapid growth of Ageless Innovation. Particularly within the B2B space, Tom has not only fostered exponential awareness and adoption of the Joy for All product line, but also challenged the way care partners and professionals previously thought about the role of “play” among older adults.

It is in the light that Tom leads Ageless’ global B2B channel expansion, development, and strategy serving the senior care spectrum and overseeing numerous distributor and clinical retail relationships. His work has led to relationships with thousands of senior living communities, association partners, and resale partners in the United States, Canada, Europe, and Australia. In April 2019, Tom was recognized as an Argentum Senior Living Leader 40 Under 40 award recipient for the impact of his work.

Prior to co-founding Ageless Innovation, Tom spent five years at Hasbro in numerous brand management and marketing roles. He has also served as Marketing Manager at Orange Leaf and Regional Marketing Manager at 3D Systems.

Tom is a graduate of Johnson & Wales University, Providence, majoring in Entrepreneurship and minoring in International Business. It was during his time here that Tom solidified his passion to making the world a better place through entrepreneurship. By Tom’s sophomore year, he had already started a food truck and then launched a mobile ordering app, called Feed Me, for food trucks and small restaurants. Tom’s ideas and ambition caught the attention of many, including the producers of the hit show “Shark Tank.” Although he didn’t make it to a televised episode, the experience left him with significant contacts and fueled his desire to succeed in business.

After selling his first two companies, Tom continued on his entrepreneurial path, including co-founding the philanthropic firm, Pay Away the Layaway, and serving as a partner and advisor in a posture pillow company, SitZen. His experience now includes starting over five companies in the past ten years, two of which are two non-profit organizations.

Outside of the office, Tom serves on the advisory boards of two start-ups, on the Board of Directors for Youth Pride RI, as a mentor, an advocate for the well-being and equal rights for the LGBTQ community, and as a volunteer for the Rhode Island Special Olympics and other community initiatives. Tom also enjoys spending time with his friends and family and travelling. He has a dual love of the snow and sun: earning a bronze medal in the Junior Olympics skiing competition and being a ski instructor; as well as being an aquatics coach and loving anything to do with the sun, beach, sailing, scuba diving, and other water sports.

Ted Fischer

Co-Founder & CEO, Ageless Innovation

“When we recognize play as a basic human need, it frees us to focus on the fun, playful, joyful side of aging”

As Co-Founder and CEO, Ted is passionately committed to championing Ageless Innovation’s belief in play as a basic human need for individuals of all ages. Inspired by his special relationship with his grandmother, Claire, Ted saw firsthand the importance of laughter and play as she gracefully lived with progressive dementia. In fact, just as Claire was a beacon for Ted, she also became an inspiration of the Joy for All brand and appeared on the original product packaging.

In his work to shift the world’s perception of play, especially its proven benefits for older adults, Ted has become a recognized thoughtleader and earned many accolades and supporters. Most recently, he was invited to share his TED Talk at TEDx Providence. Earlier this year, he was the recipient of the Leadership Longevity Award for Vision and Technology at the 16th annual What’s Next Boomer Business Summit, the nation’s leading conference for the longevity market.

Ted has spent his career leading and working alongside collaborative teams that strive to achieve meaningful financial and social impact. In 2015, Ted joined Hasbro as VP, Business Development, and later that year led the launch of the Joy for All brand, Hasbro’s first ever property focused on older adults. Three years later, he and his former Hasbro teammates founded Ageless Innovation and acquired the Joy for All brand in a friendly management spin-out.

Prior to joining Hasbro, Ted founded Fischer Consulting Group, where he helped build platforms to ensure sustainable talent pipelines between great education models and corporate America. In addition he co-founded and/or held executive level positions at ConnectEDU, Bay Capital Advisors, OneNeck IT Services, and Duro Industries.

Ted holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Boston College double majoring in Economics and Philosophy. He is also a graduate of the Program for Management Development at Harvard Business School, later serving as chair of the HBS Global Alumni Board. He serves on numerous nonprofit boards.

Ted will proudly share that his greatest accomplishments are his 29-year marriage to his wife Lisa and their three adult children. In his spare time, Ted’s competitive nature comes out in the many physical fitness activities he participates (and sweats) in. He recently finished his 8th Boston Marathon.

Meghan Gamboa

Co-Founder and Senior Vice President, Marketing and Retail Sales

“My ‘finish line’ will be when play is so engrained in our everyday lives at all ages, we don’t even know we’re doing it.”

Meghan has spent her career enthusiastically creating meaningful marketing programs. Her ability to approach marketing and sales communications in creative and differentiated ways has proven to set her apart, and she’s always ready to take on new challenges.

As Co-Founder and Senior Vice President of Marketing and Retail Sales at Ageless Innovation, Meghan leads the company’s multifaceted global marketing strategy and execution, particularly around its Joy for All brand. She is passionate about creating thought-leading brand and product opportunities with new and existing partners and re-imagining a retail space focusing on the positive side of aging.

Meghan is a lifelong believer in the power of play. Her passion for her work has always been fueled by contributing to a team that she believes in and that makes an impact on those around them. So when the opportunity arose for her to co-found Ageless Innovation and bring together these philosophies of play and meaningful impact, she jumped. This is compounded by her passion to address the unique (and often underserved) needs of older adults and their families.

Prior to joining Ageless, Meghan spent 15 years at Hasbro marketing the world’s most iconic toy and entertainment brands. A collegiate soccer opportunity brought her to Bryant University where she received a B.S. in Marketing and International Business in 2003. While working at Hasbro, she returned to her alma mater to pursue her MBA in Marketing, which she received in 2008.

Unbelievably, Meghan’s energy at work is carried over to her life at home. She will gladly show you photos at any time of her husband and college sweetheart, their two beautiful children, and their 140-pound Bernese Mountain “puppy.” Meghan is also the token “crazy cat lady” of the Ageless team and currently cares for three rescues. At home, Meghan is most proud that her door is always open to friends and family, and she will happily cook you a homemade meal.
